Yesterday, I lit a few candles and sat down at the kitchen table to do some work. Just about the time I was settled in the electricity in my apartment went out. I think the microwave blew a fuse. Anyways, it just so happened that the day my electricity went out was the same day my phone charger stopped working. So I chilled at home, in the dark, without a phone.
Inconvenient-yes, but it was a nice wake up call to remind myself to not take stuff for granted. I think i'll go buy a flashlight this weekend.

Justin Quinn

I think Justin Quinn's work is absolutely beautiful. All three of these pieces are made up of the repetition of the letter "E". Its really cool that the outcomes of his explorations are so different. I'm always intrigued by artists that have loads of patience to explore an idea for a long time. I tend to jump around with what I'm interested in. I want to be able to finish a project in one sitting.

Quilts as Art
Ian Hundley, an artist out of Brooklyn creates these beautiful quilts inspired by maps.

I immediately fell in love with his work! Maps are one of my many obsessions and I am happy to see such a beautiful interpretation of a map. Eventually I want to start making quilts, but for now my hands are full for now.
