First Crush

I've showcased Julia Potts work awhile back on my blog, and I was pleased to come across this animated short about first loves. It is really nice and you should watch it!

I am in love with the work of Lizzy Finn. The combination of fabric, collage, embroidery, and typography is really beautiful. I dig!

Fanny Pack Revolution-Trend Report

So I've never been a huge fan of the traditional fanny packs, but I think these are totally cute. They are much nicer when they are flat and more fitted to the body. Etsy has a nice selection of fanny packs, even for men!

Art Dolls

Check out Cocoondesigns's etsy store.I am loving all the detail work that goes into each doll. They have such a complex presence to them. The artist also does a great job of leveraging recycled materials.

I love this flickr set! I like how the artist manipulated these everyday objects and made them into beautiful compositions.

Cake Wrecks- My new favorite blog

This blog about terrible cakes makes me giggle so much. Check it out!

Telephone Sheep

This installation, by Jean Luc Cornec, instantly caught my eye. It is a rather simple forced connection that was executed very well. It makes me want to stay very far away from my phone.

Tattoo Piggies

Does this disgust anybody else as much as it did for me?? I think its taking things a bit too far.

Weekend Festivities: Flugtag

This past weekend I went to Flugtag on the waterfront. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I thought it was going to be a competition involving aircrafts flying across the river, but in my opinion they were just glorified parade floats that they drove straight into the water. It was cute and entertaining, none the less. It was nice to be out and about around so many people.

The Sigur Ros film, Heima, is the most beautiful thing i've watched in awhile. You should check it out; you won't be disappointed. It's about Sigur Ros touring around Iceland giving free outdoor concerts. Not only can they make stirring music, but whoever directed the film has a knack for imagery and color. So perfect! Oh how I wish I could hang out with them for a while.

Bits of Inspiration

I came across some very deliberately stacked pennies on a post. I wonder what the story behind them is.

There is quite a bit of construction happening in my neighborhood right now. Most of the time it is easy to see construction sites as an eye sore, but there is always something beautiful in the ugly. I was pleased to notice this beautiful pattern on the back of a construction sign. The color makes me happy.

A reminder to not hold your ideas in private. Let them out to float around for a bit. That will make them better in the end.

This is just a fun little video. The pacing is nice and the graphics really work well with the music. Enjoy!

Hood to Coast

I'm preparing myself for hood to coast and I finally feel like I'm getting somewhere with my training. I completed 7 miles this morning without feeling like I needed to stop and hook myself up to some oxygen. Running the hills is still really hard but I'm getting better at it.

My coworker, Ten, and I have been tasked to make our team's shirt. This is the design i've been working on for the front. Ten is making some really rad caricatures of all the runners that will go on the back. I'm so excited to see them printed up!
