Back from NY

I spent last week wandering around NY, eating lots of really good food, and of course seeing some great art. It was really nice to get out of my normal routine and hang out in NYC and Brooklyn. While I was gone all of the cherry blossoms have really started blooming on my street. It was nice to come home to that. Aren't they gorgeous!

Unfortunately, I feel like I've been neglecting this blog. These past couple weeks have been crazy. My freelance business is taking off and alot of other exciting things have been happening like my ceiling falling in. Haha...ya Anyways, hang in there with me!

Ira Glass's bit of advice

One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday afternoon is listening to Ira Glass's This American Life radio show. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to hear interesting stories. Story telling is a huge part of graphic design, so I relate to his struggles he talks about in this clip alot.

Harvest Mary Jane

I'm uber excited about this shoe!!!

This shoe, Harvest Mary Jane , is an eco conscious shoe made out of reclaimed rice paper. I love it!

Embroidery Sms

More inspiration to feed my embroidery obsessions...

I love seeing these text messages taken out of the digi-world and brought into the soft tactile world of embroidery. It adds so much to the content of the message. It makes the little things in life seem more important (which they always are). Check out more of the artist's text messages at Ginger Anyhow.
