Fall Food

I'm having fun making fall food from my CSA lately. Right now I'm obsessed with butternut squash curry soup, and roasting just about anything.

Hand Stitched Leaves by Anika Mari

I've done a little bit of sewing on leaves before and it is a delicate but very rewarding task. I just love what Anika Mari has done with these leaves. Very poetic, in my opinion. Especially the ones with 2 leaves attached by stitches. An unexpected union that is both beautiful and spontaneous.

Question: if these two leaves had a baby, what would it look like?

Etsy love: Jetty Kolobaric

It's time for me to let go of summer and embrace the season change. I wanted to share this cold weather photograph I've been eyeing on Etsy by Jetty Kolobaric. It is very intriguing from afar. You can't quite tell if it is an abstract painting or a photograph. When you get closer to it, you see the reflection of the water. It reminds me of stillness, the importance of mindfulness, and the beauty and comfort of mother nature.

Jetty has a great eye for finding all the beautiful things in nature that you should check out here.

I hope you enjoy the beauty in these photos and they bring some calmness to your day.

Fall Morning in Portland

I apologize for cheesy fall leaves photos, but I just couldn't help myself this morning taking a few snap shots. It is such a rare clear blue fall day in Portland.

I woke up this morning and went to Ken's bakery for a latte and ham croissant. Mmmm my favorite! Then I walked over to my favorite hardware store in the neighborhood, Ace Hardware, to pick up some gas masks. I've decided to start using them whenever I make fused plastic for my bags because it can't be that great for my health to inhale melting plastic fumes.

Anyways, I've got alot of work to do this weekend so I gotta go!

In the Spirit of Halloween

Check out these beautiful guilded pumpkins. I saw them on another blog and if you want to check out step by step directions go to CountryLiving.com I think it is a classy alternative to this. I still don't know what I'm going to be for Halloween. Ideas, anyone?
