Tomatoes in Abundance

I am overwhelmed with tomatoes from my CSA, so I figured now was the time to learn how to make tomato soup. This is from my first batch of tomato bisque flavored with onion, celery, and garlic. The homemade cheese biscuits and carrots compliment the flavors of the soup nicely.


This is sliced tomato with loads of cilantro and salt and pepper to taste. So delicious with home grown tomatoes!

Pretty Produce

This week my CSA produce bin from Minto Island Growers was full of beautiful little surprises. The rainbow carrots are absolutely stunning! I had to immediately grab my camera and have a mini photo shoot.

Eating local and organic

Just got my first CSA bin of the growing season from Minto Island Growers. I got a ton of organically grown produce including artichokes, rubarb, green garlic and a lot of lettus(see above). Yum. This is the first of many salads I'll be eating this week.
