Embroidery Installation Collaboration with Widen & Kennedy

I was recently commissioned to make a large scale embroidery installation for the front doors of Widen + Kennedy, a local advertising agency. I was giddy with delight at the thought of the project. I used the thickest yarn I could find and a huge needle to pull this off. These letters are seriously huge and bulky to deal with, but totally worth it in the end. If you live in the PDX area you can check it out in person at: 224 NW 13th Ave. Portland, OR 97209.

what a cool idea, and great-looking! what did you use for the "thread"? and how did you affix your embroidered grid to the screening on the doors?
