Working on new kits!
I'm working right now on my 2013 holiday products for the shop. I'm enjoying stitching on wood. Isn't it pretty?

The Formal Artisan Fair
I will be doing one last holiday sale at the Acadian Ballroom On Alberta & 19th. I would recomend eggs bendict at Petite Provence, my favorite brunch spot in the NE, and then head across the street to the Acadian Ballroom for some last minute indie holiday shopping. There will be goodie bags for the first 100 customers.

DIY Embroidery Holiday Deer Card Kit
The weather is perfect for crafting a STITCHIES kit and snuggling up by the fire this holiday season. The deer and the border pattern is screen printed in silver water based ink which looks sophisticated. There are black dots that are printed on the card that act as a pattern guide for the embroidery stitching. This would make the perfect gift for someone that has everything already, or for a crafty friend that enjoys a little project. It also looks great framed.

How does it work? First, punch the little black dots out with your needle. I prefer to start with the border first, but I recommend doing what make sense to you. Then, divide your thread into two 3-strand groups. Tie a knot and start stitching! The dots will be a guide for where to stitch. I've stitched a couple of these up and they take about 1-1.5 hours to make.

Not your Grannie's Christmas Cards
I feel like a little elf lately, running my holiday workshop. These are my latest Chirstmas Card sets!
One of my all time favorite holiday poems is "Twas The Night Before Christmas," by Clement Clarke Moore. I decided to honor that poem and create these hand screen printed and carefully typeset cards. Each card, in the set of 8, contains a bit of the poem, so that when you lay them all out, you can read it in it's entirety.

2011 Tea Towel Calendar
My 2011 Calendar Tea Towels are availble in the shop and ready to ship.
I had fun packaging these towels up. It was very meditative and I like the way they turned out.
Yup, thats my kitchen! That sink is from the 1910s and is beautiful. I can't wait to start using my new tea towels to dry my dishes.

2011 Screen Printed Calendar Tea Towels
Here is a sneak peak at my latest project, the 2011 holiday tea towel!
This weekend has really been a lot of trial and error. The first time I printed the tea towels, the ink instantly clogged in the screen leaving me very frustrated. I tried again the next morning with a slightly different set up, and it work beautifully.
After a lot of brainstorming for packaging ideas, I decided to go with the simple jute wrap with a little kraft tag. I thought about putting them in a clear ziplock, but I want people to be able to touch them. I also thought about doing a belly band, but the band went right through a critical part of the design, so I opted not to do that. I like the simplicity of my final solution.
Check out this beautiful red ink that's not clogging!
