Bubble Tea Stop Motion Project Teaser

Confession:I have a new obsession with stop motion! I've been very inspired by other artists making stop motion films on the interwebs. So while I was visiting Michal Garcia in Hong Kong, we decided to collaborate on a stop motion film about fun things to do around the city. Here is a tiny teaser. Enjoy. All the photography is my Michal. All the cut paper is by me, CuriousDoodles.

And the behind the scenes action of me positioning each tiny piece of paper. Kind of meditating after awhile. And Michal with his crazy camera set up. It worked very well by the way.

The Formal Artisan Fair

I will be doing one last holiday sale at the Acadian Ballroom On Alberta & 19th. I would recomend eggs bendict at Petite Provence, my favorite brunch spot in the NE, and then head across the street to the Acadian Ballroom for some last minute indie holiday shopping. There will be goodie bags for the first 100 customers.

Behind The Scenes- Screenprinted Jelly Fish Blank Cards

I was inspired to make these cards after watching the underwater Planet Earth series. I fell in love with the beauty of the transparent jelly fish floating along so gracefully. Mother nature does a fantastic job of keeping me inspired! This is my abstracted representation of those ethereal jelly fish. using carefully considered eco friendly materials. The cards are blank on the inside for your message. There will be slight variation from card to card due to the nature of screen printing.


Thats me lineing up the paper so everything is registered. All the cards were printed at The Pull, an independent screen printing shop.

Check out that pink ink! I'm really not much of a pink kind of girl but I really like the way it turned, especially on the green paper.

After the cards are printed, they go through the scoreing machine so they have a professional fold. Then they are packed in a cello sleeve with a CuriousDoodles insert label.
All of the paper is 100% recycled from post consumer waste which is really cool.

Black Friday Handmade Holiday Virtual Tour

My Neck Warmer

This is a project I finished up recently! I bought this beautiful yellow yarn in Vancouver and was inspired to make a neck warmer. I used funky vintage buttons and alternated the placement to give it some interest. I really like the way it turned out when it is just laying flat, but when I wear it it doesn't look like quite right. I think I will have to mess with the pattern to get it just right.

I am very excited to announce that Diskgrunt and I, are having our first ever handmade Popup Show at The Tribute Gallery for 3 days of handmade arts, crafts, apparel, comics, bags and more the weekend of Nov. 27-29th.

So heres the scoop. We will be having Free demos every day at 2pm

Friday @ 2pm I will be teaching the basics of how to make fused plastic, a versitile material that can be used for a variety of projects.

Saturday @ 2pm Diskgrunt will be teaching how to prepare your artwork for silkscreening.

Sunday @ 2pm Diskgrunt will show how to coat and expose a screen. This is great if you are a newbie to silkscreening.

Handmade Eco Envelopes

I've been an envelope making fool lately! They are very addicting because they are quick and require very little brain power. I've been very scatter brained lately, unable to focus on anything. I guess they are a meditative craft for me. The other thing thats cool about these envelopes, is seeing how the compositions change as you fold the paper. Most of the time it ends up more interesting than it started out. Here are a few I made out of a paper sample book laying around.

New Calendar in my Etsy Shop

Check out my latest etsy item here. This project has been really fun for me becuase it forced me to get off the computer and make with my hands. The process of screenprinting is very time consuming and I spent every free moment for 2 weeks preping the screens or running the press. That being said, the final product is worth it. There is something very satisfying about seeing the ink on the paper and feeling the textures. You can find more photos of my process here. Special thanks to diskgrunt! Sneak Preview of New Etsy Items
