We are finally going to get awesome weather for tonight's First Thursday event in the Pearl. If you are in the pdx area you should really try to come out and see us because its going to be AWESOME!
Put on your Sunday best and join myself and Diskgrunt at the Formal Holiday Artisan Fair for your last minute holiday shopping. There will be live classical music and and a gift wrapping table benefiting P:ear, a youth outreach program.
Diskgrunt and I have been running the pop up shop for the past two days. I want to give a quick and dirty virtual tour of our handmade goods. This was taken with the iphone so excuse the bumpy filming. If you haven't made it in yet, please stop by on Sunday or shop from Etsy.
This is a very exciting day for me. I will be showing some of my work at in conjunction with Handmade NW and First Thursday events. Come by and check out our booth. I will be showing a variety of fused plastic products including laptop bags, wristlets, and wall art. These eco bags are made out of 100% post consumer waste and they still look very stylish.
The weather should be gorgeous, and there will be lots of great art so you don't really have any excuses!! I will also be sharing a booth with Diskgrunt. Come check out his tee-shirts and other hand silk screened items.
I am totally in love with this image and the patience it took to create it. It was made by Jonathan H. Liu for a children's heart auction. It's very easy to fall in love with Portland during the summer. I feel really grateful to live here.
I'm totally impressed with the artist's mad etch a sketch skills. Very cool!
I'm sitting at PDX airport waiting for my flight. We've had a foot of snow in the past few days, and I'm one of the lucky ones who has a flight that hasn't been cancelled yet. Some people have been here since last friday and most of the people have been here over night. Everyone has that glazed over exhausted look. On the positive side the snow is so beautiful and it really makes it feel like Christmas. Cool photo of old man winter via KATU.
I'm enjoying watching the snow from my window. I'm from Texas where its in the 70s right now, so I really don't know how to drive or function outside right now. I like to stay inside and just watch.
It finally feels like Christmas to me. I've been making gifts all day in my workshop. There's lots to do around here!!
Yesterday I was out shopping in downtown and I accidently ran into an enormous group of zombies! We were just having an innocent cup of coffee when zombies started walking through the streets. Several made a point to smear a bit of blood on the coffee shop window. It was pretty funny to watch because some of them really knew how to act the part.
I learned, with the help of an iphone, that this is the 4th annual pdx zombie walk.
