Screen Printed Wood Panels
I have always loved the beauty of birtch and I've been dreaming of screen printing on it for quite some time. I finally got a chance to experiment with printing my patterns and designs on birtch plywood and I really love the way they turned out. The grain of the wood adds so much to each print making it completely unique! Check them out in the shop.
There are currently four in the set, but I hope to add more in the near future. My dream is to fill an entire wall full of these 8 x 8 wood squares with my patterns. Maybe one day.

There is a lot of love that goes into preping these wood panels. I sand them smooth and take of as many imperfections in the wood. This belt sander was a life saver. I debated on the most economical way to get these babies sanded and it ended up making since to buy the tool to get the job done properly.
I preped the production file so I could print two images at a time. That ended up saving me a bunch of screens, it just took a bit of coordination.

Geometric Embroidery Patterns on Paper
I've been awfuly quiet on the blog becuase I was traveling most of the month of July. I'm back now and I have lots of little projects going on. I've been experimenting with hand stitched geometric patterns in paper. They are really fun and relaxing to make. A bit time consuming, but I don't mind.
I've been brainstorming ways to extend my DIY Stitchies line of cards. I'm thinking about offering a geometric grid of laser cut holes. The possibilities are really endless when using a hexagonal or square grid which could be fun for the DIYer.

Burda Style: Open Source Sewing
I spent the last 3 hours drooling over the amazing sewing projects at Burda Style. It's a website community for open source sewing. There are alot of talented folks over there sharing their designs. The coolest part is seeing how people alter patterns and customize for individual style. It's an amazing resource for all skill levels. Wow, I sound like an infomercial. But really it is a cool resource I recommend everyone check out. I wanted to share a few of the projects that have free patterns that I'm really excited about!
Wool Hat.

Orange Dress
On a side note, I went thrifting this morning and got a whole pile of supplies to make more stuff. (Not that I really need any more stuff, but thats a different story) I've been working on altering a men's dress shirt into a shirt dress. More on that later :)
